The steak presentation was amazing , but the $115 porterhouse steak was all fat. The garlic meatballs were meh, but the pork cheek was delicious. I’ve had better quality steak at chain restaurants. Disappointing to say the least. Sides were on point. We made reservations and were seated at the bar? Our bartender Dylan was great. Overall... I don’t see us coming back
MoreI stopped in based on a recommendation while visiting Newport and I was not disappointed. I was by myself and sat at the bar where I could see the food being prepared. Everything is cooked in the wood burning oven in the video below. I had the bacon, Which are more like Bacon steaks and the duck taco which was amazing. The bartender also recommended a nice wine and bourbon as a finisher. The location is out of the way if you are visiting Newport, and not a local, but I found it worth the extra effort to get there.
MoreAn ABSOLUTE MUST if you love steak😘😘 . The cuts of meats are top notch and the flavors from the wood is🔥🔥🔥. Immediately hit my top 5.
MoreGreat stop in and go ! Or relax on the patio to plan your day..
Dark, loud and somewhat very interesting restaurant. Foods are good to share but a little bit of light will absolutely help.
MoreJesse was a great Server by the firepit. We enjoyed his attentiveness. Loved loved loved the burrata, chopped salad, Brussels and crab cake. It was my friend's bday and she was stoked
MoreNice cozy place. Had the short rib pizza and a salsa Verde taco. Great food. Worth a look if you are in CM.
MoreI am not sure why this place is such a highly rated. Pizza was good but tacos are just okay. Foods are definitely over priced. I assume the rent is expensive. But still, the food needs some wow factors to justify the price. That is a ninus one starAnd the service wasn’t great. Our server started collecting our plates while we were still eating. On the other hand, she didn’t bring extra plates for pizza until we asked..i mean if somebody two people share a pizza and each person need a place. Isn’t it a common sense? it shows she wasn’t thinking about what customers want/need. A good server always think ahead and provide the service without asking or ask if customers need. Don’t you think?
MoreFood and ambience are what make up this place. I could make a hard pass on wait staff. Very "trendy" and if you don't look it, you'll be treated as such, which is a travesty of service. On a busy tail-end of the week (night) and weekend, this place is packed, so be sure to make a reservation ahead of time. Their charred Brussels, roasted beets, duck fat potatoes and 1/2 roast duck are worth the try. Some dishes are a little heavy on three flavoring, but taste can always be subjective. Bring good company and a good conversation combined with nice ambience here, you're solid. Although free, parking can be a pain, so be prepared for that. No valet.
MoreThe food is delicious, I had the duck taco, and the grilled steak (MR). The duck taco was very juicy, and the steak was seasoned well. The potatoes were amazingly roasted, and the sauce on top is the best part. The atmosphere is nice, very clean, and the restrooms are clean.
MoreGreat customer service but the grilled calamari was a bit disappointed (over cooked but i did like the sauce). Grilled Steak was okay too. I guess we shall not order medium-well considering over cooked.
MoreWowzer! This place is one of a kind! We were heading back to Los Angeles from San Diego and was looking for a place to eat. And stumbled across this place. Had the best wedge salad of my life here. The Wedge Salad was deconstructed and massive (see image). Meatballs had a lot of oregono in them. Will come back to further explore the menu.
MoreI love this place, its slightly on the pricey side but it's great and totally worth it. Dillon the bartender makes the best drinks too! The pictures are of the thick bacon, butchers love and salmon tartare - I loved all of them and highly recommend each. We also tried the duck leg, which was delicious if you're a fan of gamey tasting meat!
MoreCame here on a Wednesday evening with a friend and got a spot right next to the fire outside (best seat in the house as the inside was quite stuffy even with the doors opened). We had the corn tostada and the crunch on that tostada was on point. The beet quesadilla was not at all what we had imagined--it had more of a crunchy texture, but the arugula and aioli sauce added a really nice flavor to the overall dish. The tomatoes in the gamba were delicious, but with all the oil and dry shrimp made it a little bit hard for us to finish the dish. Lastly, the salted cod churros was a unique take on fish. Quite soft, but so crispy on the outside and not usually a fan of fish and chips. And the lamb chops, wow! I'm not a huge fan of lamb at all, but went ahead and took that risk and it was so worth it. There wasn't any gamey-ness that lamb usually has and the seasoning was simple and delicious.
MoreIt was a very nice experience. The looks of the restaurant are always inviting and captivating. The food presentation was very excellent and at the same time, it was all delicious and tasteful. I couldn't have asked for better customer service from them. This restaurant is already perfect for me. I will recommend them to everyone without any doubt.
MoreEverything is perfectly cooked by wood fire. The dark wood and metal decor really compliments the food. The sausage is amazingly good, with a distinct, almost crisp casing wrapped around sausage meat that's packed with flavor. Also very good is the meatball served with wood fire cooked whole garlic that's sweet and savory. The brussel sprout, because of the way it's cooked, retains its flavor and texture while having some charred crisp on the outside. The drinks are all amazing, try whatever sounds appealing to you!
